Here are our top five staircase designs:

High Peak

This staircase was recently installed in a new development in the jewel of the Peak District. Canal Architectural worked with James Darwent Architecture to design and manufacture a bespoke, curved cantilevered staircase. The mild steel staircase structure featured 16 timber treads with 20mm spindles and handrail, incorporating an all wax finish. The result was minimalist staircase structure that blended perfectly with the rustic and contemporary elements of the property.

Langham Place

Canal Architectural were approached to supply and fit 14 feature staircases to the iconic BBC Television Building apartments. The Grade II listed building in White City, West London was converted into luxury apartments and penthouse suites.

This particular staircase design was manufactured in mild steel featuring folded steel plate treads. The landing balustrade featured toughened and laminated glass that was bonded to the steel channel underneath the floor level. The staircase was site sprayed in matte black to blend with the contemporary surroundings.

Yew Tree

This bespoke, feature staircase was for the homeowner of a luxury apartment in the Liverpool area. The property owner worked alongside the technical sales team to design a staircase to access the upper balcony area of the apartment. The final result was a modern cantilever staircase solution with dark stainless oak treads and a laminated glass balustrade. The property owner commented “Their true professionalism was evident from the start with a “can do” attitude, nothing of the clients wishes was too much for the team…a brilliant eye for perfection created what is a magnificent staircase…if I may say”

Stroud Green

Canal were approached to design and manufacture a mild steel staircase for a high-end property in London. The client worked closely with the team to design a contemporary and luxurious antique bronze staircase that provided access to the upper floors of the property. The staircase was bronze plated and featured a leather wrapped handrail for a luxurious design. The final result was a minimalist staircase structure that blended perfectly with the classic features of the property.

Stables

The features on this staircase for a property in Kent remain popular, adding glass into a staircase can help to accentuate the most beautiful features of your staircase design. The architect wanted to allow as much light to permeate throughout the property as possible which meant incorporating extensive amounts of glass into the design. The specification required a contemporary staircase structure with glass balustrades and treads.
