The Wilton Mews cantilever stair is adaptable for many environments. The secret to this staircase’s success is in the large piece of glass acting as a structural stringer as well as the hidden metalwork.
The first fix involved mechanically fixing a structural steel stringer to the wall with protruding, welded cantilever steel channels.
The Canal team plaster the structural wall to completely hide the steel work achieving the seamless floating effect. Beautiful oak timber box treads then sleeve over the steel cantilever channels pulling the staircase together.
The finishing touches included stainless steel bosses that connect the treads to the glass balustrade as well as the stringer.
The glass balustrade is 21.5mm laminated low iron glass made out of one piece running up the whole of the staircase. Matching timber handrail finished the staircase.
In addition two matching staircases ran throughout the house compliment a stainless and frosted glass landing including 15mm low iron glass balustrade to match the staircase balustrade.
Floating Cantilever staircases create a visual impact whilst enhancing many residential and commercial environments. Canal can fabricate a wide range of cantilever staircase to suit your customer design requirements and transform your space.
