A luxury private members club in London underwent a contemporary update; which included the installation of a brand new feature staircase and bespoke balustrade.
With a large open space to work with, the Members club commissioned Canal to fabricate and install a bespoke staircase. The large straight staircase features a half landing and spindle balustrade into the 9.6m² square void and around the opening.
At the Nottingham manufacturing site, the team set to work creating the structure of the staircase. Firstly starting with fabricating the sturdy box stringers and steel tread supports.
Throughout the feature staircase Canal evenly place a separate 20mm round bar spindles to form a uniformed balustrading.
On site, the installation team sprayed the stair structure in two colours; a subtle grey for the stringers and a pearl gold for the spindles.
To finish the staircase white American Oak Treads with 2 solid brass nosings perfectly match the aesthetics of the property. In addition a timber top handrail pulls bespoke feature staircase together becoming a key focus point within the club.
In addition to the staircase, the team installed a 22mm laminated glass balustrade by the first floor entrance on the edge of the raised floor area.
The glass panel was fixed into a steel channel into the floor instead of visible fixings to create a seamless finish.
