The Palace floating staircases are adaptable for many environments and are becoming an increasingly popular design.

The secret to this staircase’s success is in the hidden metalwork within the wall. The first fix involved mechanically fixing a structural steel stringer to the wall with protruding, welded cantilever channels. The installation team then plaster the structural wall to hide any steel fixings creating a seamless floating effect.

The steel cantilever channels provided access to the first floor to complete the same process for the second staircase.

On completion, Solid American white oak timber treads sleeve over the steel channels whilst also complementing the timber flooring throughout the property.

Throughout the penthouse apartment, Canal install 15mm low iron glass balustrades around the first and second floor openings.

To finish the staircase a satin polished stainless steel handrail complements the glass balustrading. In addition Canal also install an opposing handrail running up the staircase onto the wall.

Canal Architectural can install a wide range of bespoke open riser staircases for both commercial and residential environments. In addition there are a wide range of materials and styles to customise your open riser stair to meet your exact requirements and design specifications.
