This elegant L-shaped Winder staircase was designed by ourselves to architects’ specifications, for a high end office space in central London. Winder staircases are a variation of an L-shaped staircase but instead of a flat landing, the staircase has triangular steps at the corner transition.
The minimalistic design of the staircase complements the surrounding interior features whilst the intertwined shape of the staircase creates the illusion of available space in an awkward physical location on the eighth floor.
The all exposed steelwork which is painted matte black, along with the timber box treads, the double spine supporting structure and the glass balustrade panels, all work together to give the staircase an industrial feel whilst creating a spacious office environment.
Modus Crai is a truly unique staircase model that is both practical and elegant in its design, made of a complex technical foundation accompanied by a solid handrail which is used in a way to assist the structural integrity of the staircase.
Our talented in-house installation team works very closely with your on-site contractors to ensure a smooth delivery. We design each staircase to comply with BS5395: Part 2, 1984 (spiral and helical staircases) and Building Regulations: Approved Document K.
