Modern, open plan living shows off the detail of this simple zig zag staircase to great effect.
The hidden steel work achieves the effortless simple zig zag design as well as a high quality finish.
In Nottingham, Canal laser cut a 15mm steel plate for the top as well as the underside for each tread. In addition, the fabrication team also powder coat each tread plate before shipping to site.
The first fix involves embedding the structural stringer into the wall to create a staircase that appears to float. Leaving the steel treads and upright exposed creates the client’s desired zig zag effect. To finish the staircase, Canal installs a 15mm glass balustrade with stainless steel boss fixings.
