This beautiful London home required a new feature staircase and balustrading that blended perfectly with the light and airy décor. Canal fabricated a large straight staircase with hidden steel work at the upper gantry to achieve an elegant floating effect.
In workshop, Canal began the fabricating the mild steel staircase structure as well as the timber treads on to of a 6mm press tread. In addition, to hide any visible fixings, ash timber treads are sleeve over the steel structure creating a seamless finish.
Canal fabricate the laser cut balustrades from a 6mm mild steel sheet to achieve the plaited lace effect. On site the installation spray the staircase structure white to seamlessly match the client’s interior.
To finish, the laser cut balustrades is topped with a mild steel handrail with a white leather clad finish.
Laser cut balustrades allow you to be creative and imaginative with your designs. Canal can fabricate almost any pattern into the balustrading, from organic patterns such a leaves and branches as well as modern geometric patterns.
At Canal we ensure that all laser cut balustrades comply with all Building Control requirements which results in a thickness of either 12 or 15mm.
