Laser Cut Balustrades

Laser cut balustrades allow you to be creative and imaginative with design but also adding your own personal touch. Canal can fabricate almost any pattern into the balustrading, from organic patterns such as leaves and branches as well as modern geometric patterns. We can even laser cut your signature!

At Canal we ensure that all laser cut balustrades comply with all Building Control requirements which results in a thickness of either 12 or 15mm.

Laser cut balustrades are suitable for any internal or external staircase, walkway, balcony and atrium. The fabrication team will manufacture and install your balustrade to the highest quality as well as meeting your exact requirements and specifications.

There are a wide range of finishes available to suit any interior or exterior decor. To enhance the natural aesthetic of steel, a wax coating can protect your laser cut balustrade from corrosion. Alternatively, powder coating provides a protective layer and also comes in a wide range of colours to suit any interior.

Our balustrade design service includes:

  • Initial site survey
  • Specification advice
  • Assistance with material choice, dimensions, fabrication, loading and compliance with British Standards (BS6399 and BS6180).

We have experience at Canal in using laser cut to manufacturer balustrades and railings for staircases.  Feel free to browse through the projects below to gain some insight into how laser cut railings can be used in both commercial and residential railings. At Canal, we also have experience at manufacturing laser cut gates and metal panels. Laser cut balustrade panels are the perfect way to make an impact on your staircase. All of our laser cut manufacturing takes place at Canal Engineering headquarters in Nottingham.

“I chose Canal Engineering because of their ability to precision fabricate and install within a complex and awkward geometry. They were able to provide us with a finish that has a natural patina whilst also being hardwearing, develop mock ups to help us make the right choice of detail and complete the work within a reasonable budget.”
