The design of this metal bridge at Wodensborough College is unique in style: It has an outer skin clad in Kalzip aluminium sheet: The large oval portholes provide light and seating areas for the passing students. The bridge is totally self-supporting and separated by expansion joints at each threshold between the bridge and the buildings. Many hours of design were employed to create the internal and external finish to ensure the structural integrity of the build whilst being sympathetic to the original design. Further to this project, CANAL installed two internal stairways, an external fire escape complete with an art wall and various balustrades, handrails and small metalwork items throughout the College.
